Join us at the Conference “Media Freedom and Pluralism: how to reboot an essential EU pillar”

On May 16, 2018 a Press Freedom Conference – organized by the Union of Publishers in Bulgaria (UPB) in association with EMMA/ENPA, European Federation of Journalists (EFJ), in partnership with Reporters Without Borders, European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF), Association of European Journalists (AEJ), South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) – will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria.    

The conference "Media freedom and pluralismhow to reboot an essential EU pillar” will focus on media policy in the EU, issues related to press freedom in individual EU countries and more generally on sustainability of the independent press. Representatives from the publishing sector, journalists, EU stakeholders and decision-makers will gather to discuss press freedom in a call to prioritize media freedom and plurality in the EU in the forthcoming years.

The speakers at this conference include Michal Boni, MEP (EPP/PL); Tomasz Piatek, Investigative Journalist and Author of the book, ‘Macierewicz and his Secrets’; Mirosław Wróblewski, Director of the Department of Constitutional, International and European Law, Office of the Polish, ; Václav Štětka, Researcher and Expert on Media policies, Loughborough University; Gabor Polyak, Director of Mertek Media Monitor and many more speakers to be confirmed soon.
